OBJECTIVES
-State the clinical indications for performing ultrasound evaluation of renal artery stenosis.
-Recognize renal sonographic anatomy including common anomalies of the renal vascular system.
-List examination protocols and scan techniques for successful Doppler evaluation of renal artery stenosis using the direct interrogation method.
-Outline examination protocols and scan techniques for successful Doppler evaluation of renal artery stenosis using the indirect interrogation method.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Physicians, PA’s, sonographers, sonography students and other medical professionals who will be involved with performing and/or interpreting renal artery duplex/color flow imaging examinations. Physicians may include (but is not limited to) radiology, general surgery, vascular surgery, cardiology, internal medicine, and primary care.
