OBJECTIVES
Mesenteric and Porto-Hepatic Duplex/Color Sonography Training Video's focus is on the duplex/color ultrasound evaluation of the principle mesenteric vessels. One focus is on the associated symptom complex and the role of the celiac and superior mesenteric arteries in chronic mesenteric ischemia. A second focus is on porto-hepatic venous system and the hemodynamic responses to portal hypertension.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Physicians, PA’s, sonographers, sonography students and other medical professionals who will be involved with performing and/or interpreting abdominal vascular duplex/color flow imaging examinations. Physicians may include (but is not limited to) radiology, general surgery, vascular surgery, cardiology, internal medicine, and primary care.
OBJECTIVES
-Evaluate the mesenteric arterial circulation for clinically significant chronic ischemia.
-Perform a standard protocol to document hemodynamic changes associated with portal hypertension.
-Evaluate the hepatic veins and inferior vena cava.
